The Ramada by Wyndham Torrance offers a decent, budget-friendly stay with a convenient location near shopping and restaurants. While some guests appreciate the clean rooms, pool, and helpful staff, recurring issues include uncomfortable beds, dated room furnishings, and inconsistent service. Recent reviews highlight concerning cleanliness and potential bed bug infestations, alongside operational problems such as check-in difficulties and staff responsiveness.

Overall decent experience here. PROS Good location, with shopping and food nearby. Tasty Chinese on property is a hidden gem- really good food! Pool and Hot Tub clean and inviting (HINT- entry is in the back, very confusing and not marked). Chlorine level is high in hot tub and towels are not always put out- look for them rolled on chairs if they are available that day. Rooms are clean. Minimal amenities. Ours had microwave and refrigerator, which was helpful. Parking is available. Friendly staff. CONS Beds are ROCK HARD! Ask for several blankets (they are polyester, but sheets are actually cotton, which I was grateful for) and use them as a mattress topper. They are also very squeaky when you roll over. Walls are thin- you can hear TVs next door. Rooms are dated! Very due for an upgrade! Light bulbs don't match in color temperature, walls are scuffed, decor is stuck in the early 2000s. Postage sized towels in bathroom and at pool. Landscapers tend to start around 9am and if they are trimming the hedges, you will not be able to sleep in! This could wait until 10 so most people are up. I would stay here again now that I know what to bring to make it more appealing, but these are easy fixes for the hotel to stay relevant in the area- where there are not a lot of other chain hotels.

My partner and I booked a room on their website using their “instant booking” feature but when we arrived to check-in they said we did not have a booking. We showed a confirmation number and the confirmation test. The front desk explained to us that the reservation was cancelled (no, not by me) because a card was not placed on file. There was no place to put any card information when instant booking. We drove 3 hours for this stay and would never do it again.

So I booked a one night stay here and almost got ate alive by bedbugs. 2:30 in the morning I wake up to my left thigh right arm itching. There was no one at the front desk for like 20 minutes as I call and call and call. Finally I send my son there and there was a sign that said be back in 5 minutes. I called again and finally got someone who said there’s nothing he can do except change the room. We switched rooms and I was unable to sleep. In the morning I go to check out and the man at the front desk would not look at the bites. He apologized and said the manager would call. I have yet to receive a call to acknowledge what happened.

Quality hotel, nothing fancy, but it did. The job might’ve been nice if it was a teeny bit closer to the Carnival pier, but it is what it is- a shuttle would’ve been nice. All staff that we were interacted with were very helpful and very kind.

Our car unexpectedly had to go in the shop nearby while we were on a roadtrip. We stayed at this hotel for about a week and had a great experience, especially for the price! The staff was great especially George at the front desk.

Room Broken Into – Manager Blames Guest I am a Wyndham Diamond member and have stayed at this Ramada regularly for months. My room was entered without my authorization, and personal belongings were stolen. Despite surveillance showing a suspect entering my room, management—specifically the manager, Nicole—immediately blamed me by claiming my key card was used, which I clearly disputed. I had both key cards in my possession and returned them to the front desk after discovering the theft. No reasonable investigation, accommodation, or refund was offered. Nicole’s handling of this situation was rigid, dismissive, and unprofessional, showing no empathy or accountability—especially toward a long-term Diamond member. I was forced to file a police report simply to protect myself. Guest safety and loyalty are clearly not priorities here. I will not be returning. Update: I filed a police report and had both key cards in my possession, which I returned to the front desk after the theft. Entry was not authorized, and over $1,000 in property was taken. No accommodation or refund was offered.

This was our third time staying in this hotel in the last couple of months. The check-in experience Is consistently a breeze. The staff are very friendly and professional. Although it is an older hotel, the rooms are very clean and well maintained. It’s very obvious that they take pride in the maintenance of the property, including the pool and hot tub. The front desk staff has been very helpful every time we’ve gone to ask questions. The surrounding area has everything you could need within walking distance. There is a variety of wonderful restaurants and shops. Added bonus, there’s a wonderful, authentic Chinese restaurant right next-door to the hotel (the food is delicious).

Not disappointed. From previous reviews and google maps, I was actually expecting worse. The rooms were clean; however, obviously worn. They were very clean and the website photos were accurate on size and representation. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The location was good, multiple conveniences nearby and easy access to metro. A/C was loud, but I sleep with a fan typically, so worked perfect. Best feature was the shower, I’m tall and haven’t found the adapter for my own shower to raise it enough to rain down on me. I will come back if my travel plans bring me this way again.

I’m usually a die-hard Marriott man, but this time I decided to roll the dice and booked the Ramada—lured in by location and price. My first curbside impression? Oh boy… what am I getting myself into? Let’s just say it wasn’t the kind of view that makes your eyes signal your brain to tell your mouth to say “wow.” Meaning not your typical hotel curbside look but of a motel look. But don’t let looks deceive you. Gets better . The registration office was about the size of my sock drawer back home, but the welcome was outstanding. The front desk lady was an absolute sweetheart—warm smile, friendly vibe, the kind of person who makes you feel at home before you even have a key. The hotel doubtful vibe turned positive. It won me over. Walking to my room, I couldn’t help but notice the… interesting mix of tenants. The vibe made me wonder if half the place had been converted into apartments. Not bad—just not what I expected. But then I opened the door, and my voice box finally got the “wow” memo. The room was spotless—like, “crime scene clean” without the crime. Fresh scent, bed tucked tighter than a Marine’s bunk, floors free of dust, toilet whiter than a toothpaste commercial, and a shower so clean it practically dared me to get it wet. The only downside? Paper-thin walls. On my right, a neighbor snored like a cicada on a caffeine rush. On my left, I got the full unabridged audiobook of my other neighbor’s life story—no subscription required. In a nutshell, will I come back? Yes. Will I recommend it ? Yes. Enjoy the hotel. I have no regrets.

Me and my husband stayed there for one night yesterday. We had a good experience. The only bad thing I can say is the bed was not comfortable at all. My bed was very very hard and very hard to sleep on. My back was hurting a lot the next morning because of the bed and has been hurting all day. I just wish the bed was more comfortable to sleep on. Other than that, we had a good experience.
