The Ramada by Wyndham Torrance offers a generally positive experience with favorable location and friendly staff, particularly praised for its cleanliness and convenient amenities like parking and a pool. However, recent reviews highlight issues with bed quality, inconsistent service, and occasional problems with amenities such as WiFi and hot tub chlorine levels. A concerning recurring issue involves bed bugs and subsequent staff responses.
I stayed here one night coming to LA to celebrate my birthday. The hotel is in a great location, everything was clean,,I slept pretty good, have no problem with this place, receptionist who checked me in was really nice even gave me a room with balcony for my birthday ? Thank you for the pleasure of the stay,it’s kinda difficult to find a descent hotel with affordable price for one night!!! I enjoyed the stay, thx??
The service here it is really good, front desk always welcoming, friendly and helpful and the housekeeping service was really open to help, I came to a really nice women name Maritza because I need to get my room clean and even though my room it wasn’t on the system yet she just came and do everything! Thank you so much! Really appreciate the gesture and looking forward to come back!
Rooms and bathrooms are very clean! AC works!! Parking is right infront of the rooms. Ice machine location are very convenient. Housekeeping ladies are nice and attentive. Beds have clean sheets but the pillows are a bit big. Room had a micowave and refrigerator. Outlets near the beds. Desk and chair. Big flat screen. Easy check in and out. Parking is $8 for additional parking (fair). The location is surrounded with many restaurants, fast food, grocery stores, targets, shopping centers, and theaters. Freeway is not far. Great location. Wifi is not the best but not a big deal in my list. My second stay here and would come back.
Last minute booking for 5 days. The ground staff especially Nora who we really appreciate her hardworking with maintaining our room every day. We would return to cleaned room, and everything stocked. We love that it’s a pet friendly hotel our fur baby loved it as well. Thank you to all the staff here for a memorable stay. The beds were comfy, and we were really happy that there was a microwave in the room. We will definitely return here. And yes, the location is perfect from food to grocery to hair cuts just down the street. Oh, self laundromat on the property. Thank you and we appreciate all of you. Room 124z
Overall decent experience here. PROS Good location, with shopping and food nearby. Tasty Chinese on property is a hidden gem- really good food! Pool and Hot Tub clean and inviting (HINT- entry is in the back, very confusing and not marked). Chlorine level is high in hot tub and towels are not always put out- look for them rolled on chairs if they are available that day. Rooms are clean. Minimal amenities. Ours had microwave and refrigerator, which was helpful. Parking is available. Friendly staff. CONS Beds are ROCK HARD! Ask for several blankets (they are polyester, but sheets are actually cotton, which I was grateful for) and use them as a mattress topper. They are also very squeaky when you roll over. Walls are thin- you can hear TVs next door. Rooms are dated! Very due for an upgrade! Light bulbs don't match in color temperature, walls are scuffed, decor is stuck in the early 2000s. Postage sized towels in bathroom and at pool. Landscapers tend to start around 9am and if they are trimming the hedges, you will not be able to sleep in! This could wait until 10 so most people are up. I would stay here again now that I know what to bring to make it more appealing, but these are easy fixes for the hotel to stay relevant in the area- where there are not a lot of other chain hotels.
My partner and I booked a room on their website using their “instant booking” feature but when we arrived to check-in they said we did not have a booking. We showed a confirmation number and the confirmation test. The front desk explained to us that the reservation was cancelled (no, not by me) because a card was not placed on file. There was no place to put any card information when instant booking. We drove 3 hours for this stay and would never do it again.
So I booked a one night stay here and almost got ate alive by bedbugs. 2:30 in the morning I wake up to my left thigh right arm itching. There was no one at the front desk for like 20 minutes as I call and call and call. Finally I send my son there and there was a sign that said be back in 5 minutes. I called again and finally got someone who said there’s nothing he can do except change the room. We switched rooms and I was unable to sleep. In the morning I go to check out and the man at the front desk would not look at the bites. He apologized and said the manager would call. I have yet to receive a call to acknowledge what happened.
Quality hotel, nothing fancy, but it did. The job might’ve been nice if it was a teeny bit closer to the Carnival pier, but it is what it is- a shuttle would’ve been nice. All staff that we were interacted with were very helpful and very kind.
Our car unexpectedly had to go in the shop nearby while we were on a roadtrip. We stayed at this hotel for about a week and had a great experience, especially for the price! The staff was great especially George at the front desk.
Room Broken Into – Manager Blames Guest I am a Wyndham Diamond member and have stayed at this Ramada regularly for months. My room was entered without my authorization, and personal belongings were stolen. Despite surveillance showing a suspect entering my room, management—specifically the manager, Nicole—immediately blamed me by claiming my key card was used, which I clearly disputed. I had both key cards in my possession and returned them to the front desk after discovering the theft. No reasonable investigation, accommodation, or refund was offered. Nicole’s handling of this situation was rigid, dismissive, and unprofessional, showing no empathy or accountability—especially toward a long-term Diamond member. I was forced to file a police report simply to protect myself. Guest safety and loyalty are clearly not priorities here. I will not be returning. Update: I filed a police report and had both key cards in my possession, which I returned to the front desk after the theft. Entry was not authorized, and over $1,000 in property was taken. No accommodation or refund was offered.
