Extended Stay America Suites Los Angeles Torrance Blvd receives mixed reviews, with some praising its convenient location and helpful staff, while others express concerns about cleanliness, maintenance issues, and rude service. Recent feedback highlights problems with bathroom functionality, smoke odor, and unresponsive management.
Thank you to John for checking me in. John was extremely helpful and professional. He should be a manager, if he isn't already. Other staff was very friendly as well. Rooms were clean and spacious. Full refrigerator, electric stove, sink. Beds were comfortable. 10 min drive to Redondo beach pier. Plenty of food options in walking distance, 5min 7-11 on the corner. Plenty of free parking on premises, secure.
I am very unhappy with this Hotel. They offer breakfast but in really mean just coffe and bread but if they run out of coffee at 7:00 am to bad to sad. And no hot water for tea neither. Jajajajajaj sound like a joke but its real. No room service No shampoo No soap No kleenex No dishes. And on top of that. The front desk personal have such a terrible terrible attitude. They look like they are pissed off were asked a question and the look mad like we are asking something special. They answer mean so mad ? and then they just walk away to the back room. Looks like they are forced to work or something. From all the hotels I have been this is the worst even motel 6 and 8 are better then this one. I wouldn't recommend it. My family vacations were unpleasant for this circumstance They came form far away to be close to us so we can spend some amazing quality time . But at the same time their stance were uncomfortable So disappointed I wouldn't give not even 1 star but if I don't add 1 it doesn't let me post
They had bad reviews online and I already see why. The host is extremely rude. He wouldn’t let me check in early unless I paid for each hour. And he said he did have a a room available if I wanted to do that. Otherwise, I’d have to wait until my check in time at 3 pm. And then I told him I had to use the restroom and he said there was no public restroom available (even though I already had a room reserved). So I waited over 2 hours until 3 pm and then he told me the room wasn’t gonna be ready for at least 20 minutes. And I said “You told me one was already available earlier” and then he said “the reason I don’t have a room ready now is because somebody else came and WAS willing to pay the early check in fee,” implying it was MY fault the room wasn’t ready because I didn’t want to pay extra for a room that was already overpriced at over $200. Regardless, if check in time is 3 pm, a room should be available at that time whether I pay an early check in fee or not. It’s just very unprofessional and the host is very rude and lacks accountability. And then it’s supposed to be a non smoking hotel and it stunk like smoke inside the lobby. I couldn’t stop coughing.
I purchased my 7 day stay through Priceline while at the end of my travel from Minnesota to California. After reading about the Extended Stay there was nothing notifying me that my bank card, that works every where else I purchase hotel/motel stays would end be an acceptable form of a card on file for incidentals. When I got to the location there was a sign stating this fact on the front desk which is not helpful if you don't state that you don't accept this card holder online before online purchases. Before walking out of the door paying near 700$ for a week stay they front desk gal says " I don't know why you keep looking at him, he's not the manager." I ask " May I speak with the manager?" Her reply " No, she's not here on weekends and any way she's going to say the same thing." I traveled from Minnesota to California, never being here before to be denied and sent out at night, after fully paying for 7 nights after fully paying because this establishment wouldn't accept my card for "incidentals." I have called Priceline and they stated they will ask to see if the extended stay will provide a refund. Update: After Priceline called the Extended stay I have been told I will be refunded for the seven nights, which is good. (Priceline does well by there users) and thank you to the extended stay for doing the honest thing by initiating the refund. I have stayed at multiple Extended Stays in my life and this situation is unique to this location.
I stayed here with a friend this past weekend. Immediately I noticed that the hallways smelled of weed and smoke and also air freshener like someone was trying to cover it up. We were informed by our friend that our shower doesn’t work, which is something basic that a hotel should be providing. It violates the California Health and Safety Codes to not have proper plumbing nor any accommodations for us to move to another room with the correct plumbing. The manager has also denied us a refund for our stay. The towels felt like they were going to rip apart and the beds were lumpy. The blankets were thin and smelled funky like an old shirt that’s been dusted in a scented powder that’s been tucked away in a closet for two years. The floors were super dirty and not all of the outlets worked. Would not recommend.
I do not recommend. Upon arrival found the smoke detector lying on the counter with the battery out; furniture old and beaten up; bed way too soft; desk chair seat loose and secured by only 2 of the 4 bolts; but worse of all what appeared to be mold on the shower base. Asked for a new room but was denied. Maintenance installed the smoke detector and housekeeping cleaned up the mold but still dark stains. I would give a zero if I could. I even asked to cancel 2 of my 3 nights and get a refund and I was told no.
I booked this hotel and I had to stay in a room for three days with a soiled toilet! I went to the general manager day, my toilet stopped up and she said she put a ticket in. The next day I went up and I told her Felicia, the general manager my toilet is still not fixed! Now, she should’ve moved my room when I initially told her I was having troubles flushing the toilet. The next day, I told her my toilet still has not been taken care of her response.” oh I had no idea. Let me put in another ticket.” ? It’s not my job to do your work general manager. You should stay on every issue. A customer makes while staying under your roof! My room should’ve been moved on the 1st day! I asked the GM for comp nights. She told me no after she caused the issue of me being in this room for 3 days that falls on her. That’s a horrible business we extended stay I’m just saying.
First, I’d like to thank Hayden for helping me with the issues I had at extended stay in Torrance California on Torrance Boulevard! Hayden went over and beyond his work duties to ensure that I had a nice clean room to move to, since the room I was in the toilet was not functioning for three days. Hayden is very kind, great Customer Service, always asking if I need anything, if I need anything, he’s always right there so I wanna shout out and give kudos to Hayden. Thank you so much for your help you are appreciated! I would also like to mention Tikia She was always helpful, smile on her face and we got along great. She’s a sweet young lady. I had booked another stay from the 17th to the 19th and as I went to check in once again I spoke with Felicia the general manager and she told me basically I couldn’t stay there!? I told her I booked this through extended stay and the representative had no problem helping me book this property. I told that to Felicia, but she told me once again it’s out of my hands. Prior to leaving extended stays on Torrance Boulevard, I had asked Felicia if I could please get comped for being held in my room for three whole days with a soiled toilet! She said no it’s out of my hands. -That’s all she always says, it’s out of my hands. I called corporate. They said it was up to her so now I know she lied. I’m going to attach my video showing everyone that reads this review what I had to go through as a good paying customer, when I asked her initially when my toilet started to not flush, she said she’d take a ticket out, the next day my toilet, still soiled, I go upfront again. Her response is. “ I’LL CALL ANOTHER TICKET IN”???? Are you kidding me? I was in that room overnight with a soiled toilet and the second Day when I told Felicia, nobody came to fix it, she kept me in the room. She didn’t even move me. She did not do her job. I am telling you she did not do her job! She kept me in that room. I was in the room for two days, two nights now with the soiled toilet! The third day happened to be a weekend Felicia the general manager wasn’t there that’s where Hayden came in and Hayden moved me immediately apologized and said if it was me the first day, I would’ve moved your room! Felicia doesn’t think this way she should not be general manager. She’s not taking care of her death. I sat in the soiled bathroom room for three days ridiculous extended stay you need to do something about this general manager because I’ve talked to other people and residence there they’re not happy with her either they don’t contact you because they’re afraid they’ll get thrown out pretty much like I did. SEE MY REVIEW ON YELP AND YOU’LL SEE THE PICTURES THEY DON’T ALLOW IT HERE I GUESS?!!!!!
tel review I can honestly say that this has been my worst hotel experience ever. I want to preface this by saying I worked at a hotel before. The smell of cigarettes and dirty carpet welcomed me upon arrival. In the lobby and into my room. The staff did their best to cover it up with bleach and air freshener but this hotel needs an industrial cleaning job. Serious cleaning needed. Both mattresses in my room were sagging and sinking. the manager said that families usually stay on my floor so there is more wear. Ummm, why don’t you replace them???? I asked another guest about her mattress in her room and she had the same issue. Step 2, replace all mattresses. Roaches and spiders were killed in my room - by my stomping on them. The key cards needed to be reset every day I was there. Each time I was advised not to place them near my phone. Ummmmmm… you need to replace or fix the machine. The windows were so dirty. Again, major cleaning needed. The furniture is worn, and looks like a Goodwill find minus the refinishing needed. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink where the spider resided briefly. Chipped paint on the walls and the bathroom door. Many times I went through the lobby with no one at the desk. I had to wait, call out, wait, but mostly gave up and tried later. For over 24 hours there was blood on the floor in the lobby between the double doors entrance. The attendant was aware of it but it took another day to wipe up biohazard material. Although they offered Wi-Fi I could not use my laptop. I think I would have to pay extra or something. Good marks- the staff was lovely. Very nice and friendly and kind. They genuinely cared about my stay. The sheets and towels were clean. The landscaping was well kept. I would only recommend this hotel for relatives you hate.
Service is very poor. Floors are extremely dirty in room. Many things about this Extended stay were a let down. Right After checking in I was told if you need anything like towels or linens at any time just let us know. So after getting to my room I noticed there were only 2 towels in my room. Well I have 4 people in my family so I asked for a couple extra towels and the attendant at the front desk gave me a mean stare and said, why do you need more towels? So I explained to her the situation and she rolled her eyes and told me wait one minute. Then the next morning at 7 AM I went to get some coffee and some treats from the breakfast area, but there was nothing left. So I asked if there was anything else and the guy at the front desk said this is all we have. He had 3 muffins and said do you wanna take one? I explained to him that I had two kids in the room and my wife, and he got upset and told me” Well, take them then” After all that being said during this weekend, the elevator never worked. When you walk in the front door, it smells like pee and overall, It was a letdown staying at the extended stay.
