The Miyako Hybrid Hotel Torrance consistently receives positive feedback, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. Guests particularly appreciate the Japanese-inspired design and amenities, such as the bidet toilets. However, ongoing concerns center around inconsistent internet service and occasional noise issues.
I had to stay at this hotel for a bit more than a week because of my place got issue that my family could not stay in, and I happened to experience different rooms during my stay. Rooms are clean overall, hotel is a bit old but is clean. Staffs are nice, sometime day offer free breakfast tickets for stay, sometimes not (it's only available when offer mention it when you book it). It may be more comfortable for Asians as amenities are very familiar with asian stuffs, some rooms have bidet .. lol. Lower flours would get some noise from upstairs, but other than that it's a nice place to stay.
Amazing experience, two nights spent at this hotel, great hotel management and super polite staff. Its located in a quiet neighborhood and easy access.
The lady at the front desk told me “don’t tell anyone” but she’d only charge me for one night because we had a discrepancy with the room. When the full amount was charged to my card I called the front desk and they told me that she told them she never said that. Dishonest employees and a manager that doesn’t care. They offered me 15% off in compensation, which wasn’t what I agreed to pay.
Service and staffs are excellent, breakfasts are very tasty especially Japanese styled portion, I only had to take away 1 point for crappy internet WiFi for ages, I’ve been stayed at this hotel for years with my company contract, despite maintenance personnel’s endless effort helping us to solve connection, sometimes provided us rental routes but yet the connection was horrible and when I tried using cellphone as an alternative, my Google Fi is also getting the worse reception I experienced throughout the states I travelled. Please do something with the internet. ;(
First off I wanna say I saw a mixed reviews about this place but overall it was pretty good. I ended up staying here because my friend from Japan was also here and I wanted to be close by so I ended up picking this place. I want to say, though that the rumors about this place being great and it receiving five stars as well deserved. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. The overall feeling of this place feels like Japan. It’s simplistic, minimalistic, and extremely extremely clean. Let alone that the prices were quite competitive compared to the other hotels. Upon walking to the elevator, the first thing that hit me was the smell of this place. It smells of just cleanliness and I can’t stress that enough. Walking into the rooms. Everything was immaculate and very inviting. Every time housekeeping came and cleaned up for us. They left the room in the condition that was pristine along with our stuff being there. The beds and comforters are top quality. The bath is the highlight of this place. Have a bidet at home and once you use it you will never not want to use it. Again even this was clean. The bath and shower was my favorite things. At the end of a long day, I will shower and then jump into the huge tub with nice hot water. I felt relaxed and was able to sleep like a baby after this. I heard complaints of water pressure and some of the comments, but I did not have this problem nor did any of my friends. My only grip with this hotel was the additional fees that were charged to me for having a extra person, but that was minuscule. I had a couple discrepancies, but it was handled professionally and with no questions asked, they adjusted the bill. Being able to handle this while maintaining a polite composure made me extremely happy. All I can say is if you’re in this area and you’re looking for a hotel in the Long Beach/Torrance area. I would highly recommend this hotel.
A quiet, clean hotel with subtle Japanese touches. Rooms have Toto bidets, and the on-site spa makes work trips feel civilized. I like walking to nearby ramen spots for dinner. Front desk is no-nonsense but helpful. Freeway access is excellent for South Bay meetings.
Quiet, modern hotel with a relaxing on-site spa and clean, minimalist rooms. Staff is polite and efficient at check-in. The attached restaurant is convenient if you arrive late. Plenty of parking and easy access to the 110 and 405. Great base for South Bay exploring without beach-town prices.
I’m writing to share a disappointing experience I had during my current stay at your hotel. Upon arrival—approximately 25 minutes before the official check-in time—my party and I were informed by the front desk representative, Jeff, that our room was not ready. While I understand that early check-in is not guaranteed, what followed made me feel unfairly singled out and discriminated against. During that same time, I observed other guests—including individuals of other races and airline staff such as flight attendants—being checked in promptly and without issue. As a paying guest, the contrast in how we were treated was clear and left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. I was told I would receive a call when my room was ready, but that call never came. When I returned to the desk at 3:00 PM, Jeff offered no apology or acknowledgment of the missed communication. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of background or appearance. I hope this message prompts a closer look into how guests are greeted and accommodated so that no one else has to leave feeling the way I did.
We had reserved two suites for an overnight stay. Wow! Free parking! This place is so clean. Very friendly and professional staff. Quiet rooms. Close to a lot of good restaurants. Cheaper to purchase buffet breakfast (American and Japanese food) at time of check in than purchasing at the restaurant. Will be back...
Horrible internet, can't work with 1mbps speeds. Avoid staying here if you need a working wifi. Or bring your own starlink to avoid these dialup speeds. It's 1 am and it's imposible the wife disconnects, takes long time to do anything online. It's incredibly slow and I have to be honest, this is the only hotel I've stayed in so far with such a bad internet connection.
